For MBA students at Deccan School of Management
Welcome Note:
SEMRC, greatly extends a warm welcome to all the faculty members and masters students from Deccan School of Management to this Three-Day Workshop on Research Methodology with Hands-on Experience of SPSS being organized on 29th, 30th January 2nd February 2026.
I would like to take a moment in introducing to you what Research is, about Research Methodology and significance of statistical analysis.
Research is a scientific process, underlined with evidence-based practice and informed decision-making in management. This workshop has been thoughtfully designed to equip you with essential knowledge of research methodology, research design, tools of data collection and provide practical, hands-on training in SPSS, a vital tool for data analysis and interpretation.
Over the next three days, you will gain valuable insights that will strengthen your research capabilities, sharpen your analytical thinking, and equip you to meet both academic requirements and professional challenges.
This workshop has been carefully designed to provide you with both conceptual clarity and practical exposure to the tools and techniques required for meaningful research.
I encourage all participants to actively engage in the sessions, participate in discussions, ask questions, and clarify any doubts you may have.
I am confident that this workshop will be both intellectually stimulating and practically enriching. With these words, I formally declare the Three-Day Workshop on Research Methodology with Hands on Experience in SPSS open.
Vote of Thanks:
Good afternoon, esteemed resource person, and my dear colleagues, it gives me immense pleasure to present a vote of thanks at the end of a three days’ workshop “Three-day workshop on Research Methodology with hands-on experience of SPSS”. Over the past three days, we have been part of an enriching journey of learning, exploration, and hands-on application.
Research is often described as the backbone of knowledge in research which includes systematically gathering, analyzing, and interpreting information. This workshop offered us a valuable opportunity to bridge that gap by combining a strong theoretical foundation in research methodology with practical training in SPSS, one of the most powerful tools for statistical analysis. The hands-on SPSS sessions were especially impactful. Understanding statistical concepts in theory is important but applying them to real-world data brings true clarity. Through these sessions, we learned by doing—working with datasets, performing descriptive and inferential analyses, interpreting results, and drawing meaningful conclusions. This experience has undoubtedly strengthened our confidence and competence as emerging researchers. Such practical exposure empowers us to confidently approach our research projects and publications in the future.
I express our sincere gratitude to the resource persons, Dr. D.K. Lal Das, for the expert guidance, patience, and for making complex concepts understandable and interesting. Your practical insights and encouragement have truly enriched our learning experience. I also extend my heartfelt thanks to the organizing Team: Dr. S Adeeb Mujtaba Ali, Dr. Umair Wahedi, Ms. Roqayya Aimun and Myself: Ms. Subhana Tasneem, for putting together this meticulously planned workshop, ensuring everything ran smoothly from start to finish.
I am thankful to faculty from Management college for their active participation in the workshop. Dr. Syeda Rukhsana, Ms. Syeda Hina Fatima, Ms. Syeda Tamkeen Sultana, Ms. Naseem Jahan, Ms. Asra Fatima.
I thank my fellow participants—for their enthusiasm, curiosity, and active participation, which made this workshop a vibrant learning gathering. As we bring this workshop to a close, let us view this moment not as an ending, but as a new beginning.
I encourage each one of us to carry these learning forward, to apply them with confidence, to keep exploring, and to continue growing as researchers.
Thank you.
