REPORT
Salar-E-Millat Research Centre (SEMRC) successfully conducted a Research Methodology and Hands-on Training Experience of SPSS for Medical PG students of Deccan College of Medical Sciences on 15-122025, 16-12-2025, 17-12-2025.

This research centre functions under the visionary leadership and able guidance of our Honorable Managing Director, Janab Akbaruddin Owaisi Sahib, and is dedicated to addressing the multidisciplinary research requirements of the various departments within the Deccan Group of Institutions.
The primary objective of organizing this programme is to reinforce the foundational principles of research while simultaneously introducing innovative and contemporary approaches to research design, data collection, data analysis, and interpretation. Such initiatives play a vital role in enhancing the quality of research output, fostering critical thinking, and encouraging academic innovation and excellence in scholarly endeavors.
We are currently in Phase One of this comprehensive research initiative, which encompasses:
- Identification of research-oriented candidates
- Capacity-building programmes
- Research paper writing workshops
- Research methodology workshops
- Continuous guidance and mentorship for researchers
It was graced by Chief Administrator (DCMS & Allied Institutions), Col. Dr. G. K. Narayan Prasad, Dr. Ashfaq Hasan, Prof., Department of Pulmonology, Principal, DCMS and Dr. Aleem Ahmed Khan, Assoc. Prof., SEMRL.

Resource Person Introduction
The workshop was facilitated by Dr. D. K. Lal Das, Senior Research Consultant, SEMRC, former Principal of R M College of Social Work & Research Centre, Hyderabad. He is well known expert of Research, Statistics, and Application of SPSS. He has over 35 years of experience in social work education, research and practice. Dr. Das is an SPSS expert with a distinguished profile in conducting research projects, facilitating research methodology workshops, designing academic e-lessons, delivering statistical training for scholars and faculty.
His expertise enriched the workshop with real-world insights and hands-on statistical demonstrations.

Structure of the Workshop
The workshop was conducted over three days, each divided into three academic sessions of one hour each, followed by discussion and practice activities when required.
Key Learning Outcomes
Participants learned to:
Understand research fundamentals and scientific inquiry
Formulate meaningful research questions and hypotheses
Apply research designs suitable for engineering and social sciences
Develop data collection instruments
Use SPSS for statistical analysis and interpretation
Prepare data for publication-quality research reports
Feedback & Conclusion
The three-day workshop was highly productive and well-received by all participants. Students appreciated the clarity of explanations, Practical demonstrations, SPSS hands-on training, Real research examples shared by the resource person. The workshop significantly enhanced the participants’ capacity to undertake independent research projects. The Research Centre extends its gratitude to the participants and wishes them success in their academic and research pursuits.
